QB Watch Breaking News

Matthew Stafford has appeared on the Detroit Injury Report under ‘Questionable.’

While it’s likely that he plays, this opens a potential spot in the QB Watch ranks. Detroit’s backup, David Blough, is an untested 2nd year quarterback. He was signed as an undrafted free agent by Cleveland in 2018, but traded to Detroit in August of 2019.

Blough was 13-23 at Purdue, which was mostly because his defense enjoyed letting him down. He feels like a natural replacement for Stafford in that regard.

Blough has taken no snaps at quarterback in his year plus in the league, and doesn’t even have an in-game appearance taking a knee in the victory formation.

If he plays, he’ll be the 171st Detroit Lion in history to attempt a forward pass. QB Watch wishes David Blough nothing but the best as he approaches a possible humiliating experience.
